Grapes
Regarded in many cultures as "the queen of fruits" since centuries, grapes are rich in phytochemical compound resveratrol. Resveratrol is one of the powerful anti-oxidant which has beeb found to play a protective role against cancers of colon and prostate, coronary heart disease ( CHD), degenerative nerve disease, Alzheimers's disease and viral/ fungal infections.
Varying in color from deep blue to purple to almost black, the large round Concord grape is encased in a thick skin. The flesh offers a medium-sweet flavor with a slight tart tang. Very seedy, the juicy pulp is distinctively musky. A powdery film characteristic of grapes is produced by cells in or near the surface that form a natural waterproofing and also prevents their skin from cracking.

Green seedless grapes can be eaten on their own fresh of the vine or frozen. They can also be added to fruit salads for texture, color and bursts of juicy flavor. There are three main types of Green grapes grown around the world; European, North American and French hybrids. All are members of the genus Vitis, or climbing vine; the most popular being the Vitis vinifera. Thompson seedless grapes are the most common variety.
The hue of a Red seedless grape can vary widely depending on the variety. The color can range from a light red to a deep burgundy. The size of the berry is generally round to oblong and medium in size, depending on the lateness of the season. The dusty film or skin; characteristic of grapes is produced by cells in or near the surface. This forms a natural waterproof coat and also prevents the delicate skin from cracking. Red seedless grapes are sweet and crisp, occasionally tart and always juicy.
